Recipe: Healthy Supergreen and Tahini Bliss Balls
Making sure you have some healthy snacks on hand will stop you from reaching for the chocolate when those sugar cravings hit.
These Bliss Balls are the perfect snack with approximately 4 grams of protein, 7.3 grams of carbohydrate, 14.3 grams of total fat and 1.8 grams of fibre each. Recipe makes approx 20 balls.
1 cup cashews
1/2 cup almonds
1/4 cup pepitas
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1/3 cup unhulled tahini
1/3 cup rice malt syrup (or pure honey)
1 tblsp super-greens powder (I used one containing wheatgrass, barley grass, alfalfa and spirulina)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tblsp chia seeds (for rolling)
Process all ingredients (besides chia seeds) until combined. Roll into 1 tblsp size balls, then roll in chia seeds. Place on baking paper lined tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
